Dear Sir/Madame,

I have just been caught while moonlighting. I was setting up my own company while working for another. I stupidly passed work I had done for the company I was employed for as my own companies work to boost my profile. I afcourse got fired on the spot and asked to leave. I am not sure how to proceed. I have admitted once exposed and have co operated in everything they have said. Taken down all the work from any online exposure I can think off.
What can I expect as legal remification for what I have done.

Do I have any legal rights in all of this and how do I proceed?

I really hope somebody can help me.

Most employers I am afraid, take a very hard line with employees using their time prepatory to setting up in (presumably) competition. The passing off work again, would be treated seriously. I think most Tribunals for example would regard these two matters as gross misconduct - but it is impossible to say without more detail. I think you may have to wait and see what the employer proposes to do - if anything, about this. It could be that they have sacked you and that is the end of the matter.

I am therefore unsure as to what you mean by your "proceeding"? If you are talking about continuing with your venture, this depends on whether for example, you have taken any clients off them. If for example you had - then I would strongly suspect that this would not be the last you would hear.
